East Elmhurst: A musical and poetic tribute to Queens, featuring Bob McNeil and Fred Simpson.

Wednesday, April 10, 7.30pm

Long Island City: “I’m Tawkin’ Here!” A citywide celebration of  New Yawk in stories, music and film. Featuring borough-inspired stories from Tara Clancy (Broad Channel), Kambri Crews (Long Island City), Ed Shevlin (Rockaways), Angel Yau (Howard Beach), and a musical ode to Queens from SoSoon (Jamaica), the “Spike Lee of hip hop.” Followed by a sneak peek of If These Knishes Could Talk, the definitive documentary on the New York accent.

Long Island City: Rough Draft festival,  a showcase of exciting new work currently under development by LaGuardia Performing Arts Center and other companies. Highlights include performances at the ON-stage theater; interactive Q&A sessions;and online opportunities to engage the artists with social media. All performances are FREE and followed by Q&A.
